Boys and girls love this opportunity to explore the dance idiom through
different styles of movement. They experience the fun of salsa, folk,
ballroom, flamenco, african, modern dance and hip-hop.




Dance Program Guidelines

Required Dance Attire:

Pre-Ballet Classes Girls:
Pink short sleeve, scoop-neck leotard without an attached skirt, pink tights, pink ballet slippers.

Ballet Classes (ages 6-8) - Girls
: Pale blue short sleeve, scoop-neck leotard, pink or white tights, pink ballet slippers.

Ballet Classes (ages 8-11) - Girls: Black short sleeve, scoop-neck leotard, pink or white tights, pink ballet slippers.

Boys: white t-shirt, black tights or sweatpants, black ballet slippers.

Jazz/ Hip Hop: jazz pants or sweatpants, sneakers, t-shirt.

Modern/ Jazz: jazz pants or leotards with footless tights, leggings.

Hair, if at all long, should be pulled back in a ponytail or bun. No jewelry except small pierced earrings.

Shoes will need elastic straps sewn across insteps. Ballet slippers should fit like gloves, snug but in no way cramping toes or restricting movement. Be sure they are wide enough. After they are checked for fit by your child's teacher, sew in elastics and put your child’s name in both shoes.

  Capezio, 1776 Broadway (corner of 57th St.)
       (10% discount offered.)
  Capezio, 51st and Broadway (2nd floor)
       (10% discount offered.)

Tutus or skirts are permitted in class on "Tutu Day" (Pre-Ballet Classes) and final class day only. On these days boys may wear a costume from home or borrow a cape.

* We provide a piano accompanist for all ballet classes with 6 or more students.
