The Spark!

September 2025

A Note from the Director

Dear Parents,

It’s been wonderful to see you all again for our Fall Semester. We are about to have a number of holiday closures, but we look forward to a consistent schedule towards the end of October. Make sure you take a look at our closures on the calendar and noted in this newsletter.

Summer was twelve weeks of non-stop action. We started quietly in June with a few camp groups and by the end, we were full. Our staff was amazing with their creativity, energy, care and patience. We had 263 campers and 24 staff members: administrators, teachers, assistants and volunteers. If you were here with us this summer, thank you for joining us. I hope your child’s experience was memorable and fun.

Coach Mary, Coach Marcus, and I attended USA Gymnastics Regional Congress this year, which is an opportunity to learn, strategize and engage with others in the gymnastics community. We came back with some great ideas and are slowly integrating them in the gym and overall program.

Warm Wishes,
Katie Kheel

Fall Calendar

Goodbye, Summer 2025

While we’re welcoming everyone back to the fall semester, we also want to reminisce on an exciting summer with all of our campers and students!

Discovery Campers ages 2/3

We watched sweet friendships form, witnessing kids holding hands on the playground and singing songs together in the classroom! We love when parents reach out to us requesting contact information for their kids’ new friends.

Many of these campers separated for the first time and did so well! Some campers are in On My Own now, and others have started school or daycare elsewhere. The camp routine prepared them well for school.

One highlight was seeing the love the campers had for our teachers! We have the friendliest and most caring staff. Some of the teachers left for college in mid-August and the campers missed them so much for the rest of the summer!

Discovery Campers ages 3/4

Campers worked on so many fun individual and group projects this summer! They loved everything animal related. During “Safari Adventures” week, they made animal masks and sang a new song called “I Like Animals.” During “Under the Sea” week, campers made jellyfish and other sea creature landscapes.

Campers made great progress in the gym, practicing handstands, walking on the balance beam, and learning cartwheels, forward rolls, and backward rolls.

Gymnastics Camp

We had a long summer, with camp running all the way through September 3rd!

Some campers were here all summer and improved their skills so much that they went up one or even two levels from where they were in the spring.

We love seeing siblings in camp together. Some siblings are in different camp groups and it’s so sweet to see them give each other hugs during transition times or cheer for each other as they’re working on new skills in the gym.

Summer Classes

We welcomed new students this summer in karate, gymnastics, and ballet who are continuing classes this fall!

New crawlers started in Baby Gym this summer and some even started to walk during classes.

Hello, Fall!

There’s so much to look forward to this fall! Here are some things we’re excited for:

  • Meeting families and making new friends
  • Halloween Week
  • Team Showcase in December
  • Dance Recital in January

We’re still enrolling open classes for the fall semester!
