Julia Ruddy

Gymnastics Coach and Art Teacher

Coach Julia is a former USAG and AAU competitive gymnast from Connecticut. Gymnastics has been a part of her life since she was 18 months old. At the age of 12, she began coaching parent/child and preschool level classes for community service hours. This led to a position as head recreational coach and assistant team coach in years to come. At 16, she suffered some injuries which allowed her to put all of her time and energy towards coaching and away from competing. At the age of 18, she became the head team coach for 3 levels within her hometown gymnastics training center. Julia pursued her Psychology degree online from Post University, as well as receiving an Associates degree in Business Management from Post University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in April of 2020. She became a Registered Behavioral Therapist and worked one on one with children in their homes as well as in school settings.

Julia moved to NYC in the summer of 2021 and has been an active Registered Behavioral Therapist. Since finding Discovery Programs, when Julia is not coaching, she goes for walks and runs with her dog, Stanley, reads, travels, and experiments with cooking and baking.
