Dance Instructor
Ximena is a teaching artist, originally from Tapachula, Mexico. She began taking dance classes at the age of 4, where she quickly fell in love with dance. After successfully passing her Royal Academy of Dance Grade Exams, she moved to New York City to hone her craft. She graduated from The Joffrey Ballet School’s Ballet Trainee Program where she got the opportunity to perform works such as “Serenade” by George Balanchine and “Viva Vivaldi” by Gerald Arpino. While studying at Joffrey, she got her BFA in dance through the University of Akron. After graduating with high distinction, she continues to deepen her knowledge by getting her teacher training certification in Vaganova Ballet Technique. Ximena’s teaching is rooted in the belief that dance is for everyone. She strives to create a safe, joyful and supportive space where dancers can explore movement, express themselves authentically, and grow not only as artists, but also as human beings.
