The Spark!

March 2026

A Note from the Director

Dear Parents,

It is an exciting time of year because our Team gymnasts have a few competitions completed and there are only a couple left. As the gymnasts compete more often, I can see their skill progression build and their confidence increase. We also observe what they need to work on based on their scores and performances of the routines so that when NY State Championships takes place, we are ready!

At the Twist and Flip meet (highlighted below), we had two levels competing at the same time, which was exciting for both the gymnasts and parents. Everyone could cheer on multiple gymnasts on different apparatus at the same time and could also observe the differences in the levels.

In one session, we had our first level, Gems, with the fourth level, Bronze. For me, seeing the Bronze gymnasts encourage and cheer on those young Gems was a highlight and very sweet. The Gems were also in awe watching the older Bronze gymnasts. I love being able to see all of our gymnasts compete and am proud of what they are accomplishing this season.

Warm Wishes,
Katie Kheel
