This is Dare’s third summer at Discovery! Dare’s dad, Wilson, shares that Discovery Campers has “benefited our son’s confidence, balance, and core strength so well. We also love the camp because it’s indoors with lots of space to run around, so there is never any worry about the weather. We can’t wait to enroll both our kids this summer. Our son loves the obstacle courses and his thoughtful teachers. He balance beams and forward rolls all over the house!”

Dare and his sister, Phoenix, will both be in Discovery Campers this summer and have also hosted their birthday parties at Discovery for the past two years!

Marlow has been a gymnastics student since 2022 and this will be her third summer as a camper.

Marlow’s mom Julie shares, “when I give Marlow the choice of different camp options, she ALWAYS chooses Discovery Gymnastics Camp. Attending camp helps her continue developing her skills and confidence. She loves the coaches and gets to work with different ones, which keeps things interesting and fun.”

Julie shares that “having a program where I know and trust the directors and coaches gives me peace of mind, knowing Marlow will be safe, cared for and challenged.”

Marlow loves getting to do a lot of gymnastics and improving her skills, while also having the chance to do art, play outside, and meet new friends who might be in different groups. She shares, “I love little kids so it’s fun to get to spend time with them.” She also likes cheering on her friends when they are trying to learn a new skill.

We can attest that Marlow is great with the younger campers! She loves being a leader and helping kids who might be nervous since she knows the camp routine so well.

Faye’s mom, Shelley, shares that “Faye has been doing gymnastics at Discovery since she was 3. She’s always had a big interest in it, but it was hard at first for her to adjust to the structure and the other kids. But Katie and the rest of the team create a very welcoming environment that allows children to settle in at their own pace. With time and patience, Faye has really overcome her initial challenges to show up now at gymnastics excited to do her best and practice her skills.”

Faye shares “I love coming to Discovery to practice gymnastics and I love when I turned 5 last year I was able to do gymnastics camp! Coach Len, Coach Mattie and Coach Aubrey always help me feel comfortable. I remember doing the balance beam and Coach Len helped me feel confident. When I was wobbling, she held my hand and I was able to do it.”

Shelley adds, “getting to be in a setting where she already feels so welcome plus all that extra gym time was just what she needed. I’m excited for her to go this summer because I think she’ll gain even more from it, both in gymnastic skills and socially being with other kids who love it too. We love Discovery and we look forward to many more summers and semesters here!”

Faye’s younger sister, Amora, will also be joining us in Discovery Campers this summer! We’re excited that they will be in camp together.

Faye says that “during camp, I love getting to watch the big kids practice and they were really nice to me. I remember Riley was helpful at snack time and talked to me about Frozen. That was fun!”

As we shared in Marlow’s section, it’s so nice to see the bond between the older and younger campers! We love how open and accepting the older campers are to the younger ones.

Faye also loves the bars! She says, “I couldn’t do it when I was 3, but I kept practicing. The coaches helped me feel better about coming down and I learned to do it. It’s my favorite activity now!”

Francesca’s dad, Sam, shares that “Discovery provides a safe, comfortable place for Francesca to exercise and socialize during summer. Camp helped her transition from Pre-K to Kindergarten last summer.”

At camp, Francesca loves the crafting, gymnastics, and making new friends. She most looks forward to snack time because she can sit together with friends and socialize! We are so glad that Discovery helped Francesca adjust to Kindergarten.

Sam adds, “The staff (Claude, Katie, Sam, Madison, and all the coaches) are really warm and make Francesca feel at home. The facilities are beautiful, clean and air-conditioned (which is key during the hot summer months!).  We like that it’s not only gymnastics and there is designated time for crafting, snacking, and socializing.”

We love being a source of comfort and socialization for our campers and look forward to having Francesca join us again this summer!
